Ford has never been the one to play it safe, and some of the changes in the 2020 Ford lineup prove that’s as true today as ever. The company continues to win big on the best-in-class front and remains determined to stay in the forefront of the EV and smart vehicle market. And with some notable upgrades to several 2020 models, there’s a lot to be excited about with the 2020 Fords.

  1. Bronco is Back!
It was in 1996 when Bronco enthusiasts sadly watched the last of this iconic vehicle come off the line. Nearly a quarter century later, it’s making a comeback and the price starts under $30,000. It will be built on the platform of the Ranger and introduces another option for the off-roader. The horsepower hasn’t been confirmed yet, but you can expect impressive performance. Also, the fun of removable doors and tops doesn’t hurt.
  2. Saying Farewell to Passenger Cars
Ford is focusing on improving its crossover and SUV line and nurturing its $11 billion investment in electric vehicles. Those are two of the biggest reasons why Ford is discontinuing all passenger cars except for the Mustang. The Fiesta, C-Max, Fusion, and Taurus are no more as Ford looks ahead to becoming a leader in the EV market.
  3. F-Series Super Duty is a Best-in-Class Triple Threat
Best-in-Class Power: Both the diesel and gas engines took the power prize home, pushing out 475 hp and 1,050 pound-feet of torque and 430 hp and 475 pound-feet of torque respectively.Best-in-Class Towing: You’ll want to go with the diesel version of the truck for max towing power. Pull 24,200 pounds with a hitch or 37,000 pounds with a gooseneck trailer.Best-in-Class Payload:  With the capability to haul 7,850 pounds of payload, the Super Duty bests the competition to finish out its best-in-class triple crown.
  4. The Need for Speed
The Mustang is the only passenger car in the 2020 Ford lineup, and anyone who likes to “win” coming off the line at a red light will appreciate the GT500 version. A supercharger kicks the Pony’s horsepower up to 760. While the max speed is 180, you’ll be able to take a quarter mile in less than 20 seconds—and handily leave most other red-light racers in the dust.
  5. Go Fast and Look Good Doing It!
In addition to the power boost, the 2020 Ford lineup of Mustangs is getting some new color options as well. You’ll turn heads in new shades including Twister Orange, Rapid Red, and Iconic Silver.
  6. Ranger’s Reappearance
The Bronco isn’t the only once-popular vehicle to return in 2020. The Ford Ranger, which was retired in 2012, is back and brings with it an impressive payload of 1,860 and towing capacity of 7,500. The price is right starting at just $24,500 with top end models ringing in at about $32,000.
  7. Best-in-Class Passenger and Storage Space
The Explorer is completely redesigned for 2020 and comes with best-in-class passenger space and best-in-class cargo space. The vehicle, which starts at just under $32,000—but can easily reach $50,000 depending on the package—boasts 152.7 cubic feet of passenger space. As for cargo space, you’ll find 18.2 cubic feet behind the third row, 47.9 cubic feet behind the second row, and 87.8 cubic feet behind the front row.
  8. Staying Connected
All new 2020 Ford vehicles will feature 4G LTE connectivity. Whether you’re on team Apple or Android, you’ll be able to use this feature via SYNC 4 as it’s compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Ford is betting on this feature being hugely popular with buyers, and it aligns perfectly with their Smart Vehicles in a Smart World campaign
  9. Updates to the Transit
Ford’s cargo van is getting some important updates for 2020, including new driver-assist options and the just-now available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive. It is also the class leader in the number of vehicle configurations, so it suits the needs of any business.
  10. FordPass Connect Now Standard
FordPass Connect isn’t new—it’s been around since 2016—but what is new for 2020 is that it now comes standard on every Ford model. Techie features include scheduling remote starts in advance and easily locating your vehicle using an app on your phone. Another fun perk? Using FordPass Connect earns you points which can be redeemed for complimentary maintenance and other rewards.
