Vehicles with lane assist technology are popular these days and Ford sets the bar high with the Ford Co-Pilot360 system. This suite of driving assist features will help you take precautions to avoid a potential collision and will provide added security when unexpected things happen.

Featuring a lane keep assist, blind spot detection, a parking assist, and so much more, Ford provides top of the line technology when it comes to safety.

Introducing the Ford Co-Pilot360 Technology and all it has to offer:

Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross-Traffic Alert

This feature is great for those heavy traffic days or when you are trying to back out of a busy parking lot. Using radar sensors, this feature uses blind spot detection to notify you when a vehicle is in your blind spot. When a vehicle is detected, an indicator light will flash in your side view mirror. This feature can also be used when you are backing out of a parking spot to detect if any vehicles are approaching.

Lane-Keeping System

Whether you are tired from a late night drive or you are distracted by the backseat passengers, this lane-keep assist technology helps you to stay within the lines if you start to drift. Using a camera to scan the lines on either side of your vehicle, this system can use one of three modes to help you adjust steering when drifting occurs. Lane Keeping Aid will adjust your steering wheel to gently guide you back in between the lines. Lane-Keeping Alert will use steering wheel vibrations to alert you when you have started to drift. For the third mode, Driver Alert, you can activate both the aid and alert features with warnings in the driver message center following multiple lane drifts. When it comes to lane assist cars, Ford’s technology sets the bar high with his combination of innovative features to keep you and other drivers safe.

Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking

Whether it’s night or day, this feature uses cameras to detect potential collisions with pedestrians or vehicles in front of you. When a potential collision is detected, a warning message will display in the message center while an alert sounds to prompt you to apply the brakes. If the brakes are not applied or aren’t applied quickly enough, brakes will apply automatically.

Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go and Lane Centering

Cruise control gets an upgrade with this feature. Using a radar and camera located in the front of your Ford, Adaptive Cruise Control will monitor the vehicle in front of you to keep you at a safe distance. When the vehicle in front of you slows, your vehicle will adjust its speed to maintain the same distance behind.

Evasive Steering Assist

Sometimes what we see can be deceiving. You are driving down the highway and out of nowhere, traffic comes to a stop or the person in front of you slams on their brakes. With Evasive Steering Assist, the camera and radar sensor will notify your vehicle whether there is enough distance from the car in front of you to apply emergency braking, or if there is insufficient space, this feature will provide additional steering support to get around the vehicle.

Auto High-Beam Headlamps

If you have ever been on a curvy pitch-black road, you know how switching back and forth from your high beams to your low beams when oncoming traffic appears can be a nuisance and an unsafe distraction. With Auto High-Beam Headlamps, your Ford will automatically activate your high-beams when it senses poor lighting conditions and will switch back to low-beam lights when it senses oncoming traffic.

Rear View Camera

When you have a car full of cargo or kids who leave items lying around the driveway, the rear-view camera gives you the guidance you need when reversing your vehicle. The color-coded lines will help guide and notify you when an object is near.

Enhanced Active Park Assist

Whether you are a pro when it comes to parallel parking or try to avoid it, this feature will make finding a parking spot much easier. Once you find a spot, the Enhanced Active Park Assist will locate the spot and will assist you in parking by guiding your vehicle while you shift, accelerate, and brake. When you come back to find your Ford bumper to bumper with the vehicles parked in front and behind it, take advantage of the Park Out Assist to smoothly navigate back onto the road.

Navigation

Taking navigation to the next level, the Navigation System with SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link GPS and 3D mapping to help make finding your destination that much easier. The navigation screen is touchscreen and responds to voice-activated commands.

BLIS with Trailer Coverage

This safety feature was created for those who haul large trailers using a Ford pickup or full-size SUV. When towing a large trailer, your blind spots significantly increase. Using blind spot detection technology, this feature alerts you when a vehicle is in your trailer’s blind spot. This system only supports conventional trailers.

Pro Trailer Backup Assist

When it comes to backing up your Ford with a trailer attached, it can be a tedious ordeal that can take multiple attempts. With the Pro Trailer Backup Assist feature, all you have to do is enter in a few measurements and rotate the knob in the direction you want your trailer to go. The system controls the steering wheel while you give it a little gas.

Hill Descent Control

Using traction control technology and anti-lock brakes, this feature allows you to concentrate on steering when going down a steep hill. The technology acts like a cruise control system by keeping your Ford at a safe, preset speed as you descend.

Each Ford has standard and available driving assist features so you can choose what is important to you. The most popular features included on most Fords are the lane keep assist, rear view camera, auto high-beam headlights, and adaptive cruise control.
